Greenhouse Gas Emissions

To reduce carbon dioxide emissions and continue to promote a sustainable environment, the hotel is gradually transitioning to clean natural gas energy to replace fuel boilers. Among them, the Grand Hotel has implemented the replacement of natural gas steam boilers, and data shows that each unit can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 25%. In terms of reducing waste heat emissions, proactive measures have also been taken by installing heat pumps to meet environmental protection standards, along with software monitoring and program control to operate efficiently based on changing weather conditions. This also allows for control over the power usage of each mechanical device to manage the load variations required by the equipment, achieving more efficient operations, with a coefficient of performance (COP) of over 9.3, demonstrating the effectiveness of the implementation.

Total Water Resources Information

The water used for operations is primarily for domestic use, and wastewater is discharged into sewage treatment plants in compliance with government effluent standards. Furthermore, The Landis Taipei has installed water-saving devices in all room types, regularly educates employees on water conservation, and controls workplace temperatures and cooling efficiency during the summer. We will continuously introduce water-saving equipment and promote employee awareness to effectively manage water resources.

Eco-Friendly Initiatives

Today, energy transition is a shared global goal. Although there is a global trend towards the electric vehicle market, finding ways to transition to more eco-friendly fuels for existing gasoline and diesel vehicles before they are phased out remains a focal point. Biodiesel emits less carbon dioxide than fossil diesel and is biodegradable, placing a relatively smaller burden on the environment. Produced from properly processed waste cooking oil (approximately 10 liters of waste oil yields 9 liters of biodiesel), biodiesel represents a sustainable alternative. The Landis Taipei is committed to joining these eco-friendly efforts by entrusting certified operators to process and recycle our operational general waste, recyclable materials, waste cooking oil, and food waste, thereby minimizing our impact on the global environment.

The escalation of the pandemic in 2021 led to a continuous surge in the use of disposable plastics, making plastic reduction a crucial environmental issue once again. When providing food takeaway services, The Landis Taipei does not proactively offer disposable tableware. Additionally, our staff cafeteria uses stainless steel tableware to achieve a circular model and fulfill our mission of reusability.

In 2023, we obtained the "Green Mark Use Certificate" issued by the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan.

Care for the Disadvantaged

The Landis Taipei deeply cares about resource utilization and strives to maximize the value of all resources. Specifically, we have partnered with the People's Food Bank Association of Taiwan to donate unsold fresh bread and meals from Liz Gastronomie daily. Through their collection and distribution, food is delivered to families in need, reducing hunger, ensuring resources are repurposed, and enhancing our employees' awareness of disadvantaged families. In 2024, the value of donated bread was NT$1,293,938, and donated rice dumplings was NT$279,520; in 2023, donated bread was NT$1,477,328, and rice dumplings was NT$59,920; by the end of December 2022, the value of donated bread reached NT$1,660,034.

Inspiring Charity and Giving Back

Since 2020, The Landis Taipei has organized the "Love Together, Spread Love" charity campaign. Through hair donation, blood donation, and charity yoga events, we have supported the "Taipei Blood Center", the "Cancer Patient Relief Association of the R.O.C.", and the "Boyo Social Welfare Foundation". Over the years, we have cumulatively donated 2,294 bags of blood to the Taipei Blood Center, while also collecting 23,458 cm of hair to help the Cancer Patient Relief Association. Total donations have exceeded NT$1,952,000.
