Employee Rights
Employee Communication Channels
The Landis Taipei not only respects the legal rights of its employees and has never prevented or hindered their freedom of association, but also maintains harmonious labor relations for many years. We support treating all employees fairly and reasonably, implementing the core spirit of the UN 'Universal Declaration of Human Rights', prohibiting any form of discrimination, forced labor, and child labor. We have established multiple effective internal channels to notify employees of operational changes and encourage them to propose ideas for job rotations. Employees and the company can communicate fully through regular departmental meetings or suggestion boxes to effectively resolve issues and promote harmonious labor relations. We have also innovatively launched the 'Sesame Salon', regularly inviting the General Manager to share operational results and exchange views with employees, strengthening team consensus.
Employee Welfare Measures
To appreciate the hard work of our employees and care for their health, while allowing everyone to better grasp their own physical well-being, The Landis Taipei cooperates with renowned domestic health examination centers. Based on different job levels, we provide annual health check-ups and consultations that exceed statutory requirements, ensuring early detection and prevention of health issues. In addition, occupational physicians and nurses from our partner center regularly visit the company to provide health-related consultation services.
To encourage employees to cultivate good exercise habits, senior executives lead employees in road running events and cross-island highway hiking. The Landis Running Club was established in 2017, allowing group members to participate in regular monthly practices. We also participated in Earth Day runs from 2016 to 2019. Road running events were canceled from 2020 to 2022 due to the pandemic to avoid gatherings, and resumed in 2023.
Welfare Implementation and Feedback
In addition to labor insurance, national health insurance, and employment insurance stipulated by the government, the company provides group medical insurance for all full-time employees and contracted interns to ensure their medical protection. The hotel also features a staff cafeteria providing nutritious meals, and dormitories for long-distance night-shift employees. For activities, we organize annual spring banquets and monthly birthday parties. Furthermore, a library and computer facilities with various books, magazines, and computers are freely available to employees.
The Landis Taipei has an Employee Welfare Committee that handles various welfare matters, including movie appreciation, festival activities, birthday parties, and club activities. The total budget for related activities was NT$1,229,053 in 2024, NT$1,259,890 in 2023, and NT$661,698 in 2022. We also provide benefits for marriage, bereavement, maternity, and illness:

Retirement Rights
Since March 1998, the company has established a retirement plan in accordance with the Labor Standards Act, which was implemented on July 1, 2005, adopting a defined contribution system. After implementation, employees can choose to apply the pension provisions of the 'Labor Standards Act' or the pension system of the act while retaining their years of service prior to its application.
According to 2022 statistics, the old system contribution amount was $2,837,772, with 5 employees retiring under the old system, totaling $4,580,819 in expenditure.
According to 2023 statistics, the old system contribution amount was $1,476,132, with 4 employees retiring under the old system, totaling $6,421,076 in expenditure.
According to 2024 statistics, the old system contribution amount was $584,136, with no employees retiring under the old system, thus no expenditure.
Unpaid Parental Leave
The Landis Taipei is one of the most representative international five-star tourist hotels in Taiwan. Many employees face guests on the front line every day, but they must also manage and care for their families. With recent regulatory adjustments, The Landis Taipei proactively provides unpaid parental leave for both male and female employees. We also have a nursing room and contracts with nearby childcare institutions, allowing employees to work with peace of mind! In 2024, 2 female employees applied for unpaid parental leave, and 2 female employees were reinstated, achieving a reinstatement rate of 100%. In 2023, 3 female and 1 male employee applied for unpaid parental leave, with 1 female and 1 male employee reinstated, a rate of 50%. In 2022, 2 female and 1 male employee applied, with 1 female employee reinstated, a rate of 33%.
Employee Personal Safety and Work Environment
The company values occupational safety, conducting orientation training upon onboarding and providing continuous on-the-job training. We offer annual health check-ups and periodically invite lecturers to give talks on health and safety topics.
Implementation and Execution of Key Occupational Health and Safety Management Tasks
1. We have formulated an occupational health and safety management plan, work rules, occupational accident application procedures, and hazard operation management regulations in accordance with laws for employees to follow.
2. Measures for a Safe and Healthy Work Environment:
To implement the food safety policy, hygiene management personnel supervise the kitchen environment, facilities, equipment, staff, and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with GHP requirements. Relevant record forms are filled out daily for tracking and improvement. A food technician appointed by the hotel regularly inspects all kitchens, issues deficiency reports, and guards the hotel's food safety.
Workplace Management: Cleaning and maintenance of floors, ceilings, walls, pipelines, lighting, equipment, and utensils.
Raw Material Storage Management: Labeling of ingredient dates and first-in, first-out principles.
Process Management: Preventing risks of cross-contamination.
Pest Control: Checking for traces of pests.
Personnel Management: Management of staff attire, personal hygiene, and chef certificates.
3. Education and Training:
New hires, current employees, and special hazard workers are provided with occupational safety and health education and training in accordance with the law, with records kept for reference. We regularly conduct fire drill lectures and practical evacuation drills for employees; hold annual initial and refresher training for workplace first responders; enhance employees' first aid awareness in the office annually, including AED and CPR teaching; and require new employees to participate in sexual harassment prevention education within 2 months, with 100% participation from current employees this year (Year 114).

In addition to general training and courses, The Landis Taipei has a unique culture and approach compared to other hotel enterprises. Our 'Work Seminars' provide a relaxed environment to enhance employees' understanding of the company's business philosophy and policies. This open discussion training, combining practice and theory, helps team members understand each other and thoroughly cohesive team spirit!
Looking forward to future market development, The Landis Taipei has also initiated management associate training early on. Not only targeting general staff but also including cadre-level management associate training programs, providing year-round development and training goals based on all-around talent cultivation. We also arrange external training opportunities such as workshops, observations, and study tours to stimulate work creativity and improve management efficiency!
Competency Introduction and Management Plan
To face the rapid changes in the industrial environment and company growth, employees' competencies must also grow alongside technological advancements and the company's expansion. In the talent training plan, besides various training, we use competency analysis as a benchmark to deeply understand each employee's characteristics, strengths, and opportunities. By identifying the capabilities and behaviors required for outstanding performance, we assist individuals and the company in understanding how to improve work performance, arrange training courses based on competency gaps, and use annual competency and performance appraisals to focus on current status and propose future development plans.
Talent Development
The Landis Taipei has imported the Ministry of Labor's 'TTQS Talent Quality Management System' since 2017, continuously improving training quality, and won a Silver Medal in the 2021 evaluation.
